1999 Barbie-40th Anniversary

This ornament is modeled after the 40th Anniversary Barbie Doll. It marked 40 years after the release of the first Barbie which was the 1959 Debut Barbie in the black and white swimsuit. Box reads, “Barbie welcomes you to her 40th Anniversary gala! Her friends “ooh and aah” as she makes a dramatic entrance in a sophisticate black gown created especially for the occasion. The pattern on the bodice of her gown is reminiscent of one of the best known outfits from her 1959 debut year, the striped swimsuit.”
